The Los Angeles have revitalized All-Star left-handed reliever Tanner Scott from the injured list ahead of Friday’s series opener against the San Diego Padres. Right-handed pitcher Matt Saur was an option to make room for Scott.
Scott, 31, has been recovering from inflammation in his left elbow since late July. The left-hander joined the this offseason in a four-year, $72 million deal after finishing the 2024 season with the Padres.
Scott has entered his first year with the , earning a 4.14 ERA in 47 appearances with 19 saves and seven blown saves. He had a 1.75 ERA in 72 appearances after the 2024 season with the Padres and the Miami Marlins.
The first five months of Scott’s first season at Blue have not gone as planned, but he can get things right with strong performances in the next five weeks and October.
The rely on Scott to handle high-leverage innings over the coming months, which will begin this weekend with a crucial three-game series with his former team.
When the and Padres met in June, Scott made four appearances in two series, pitching four scoreless innings while allowing one hit with four strikeouts.
