Davis, 28, was called on Tuesday when the team placed right-handed Tyler Glasnow on the injured list with an inflammation of his right shoulder. He made three appearances at LA’s MLB level and allowed three runners in 2.2 innings in the 10.13 ERA. His most recent outing on April 25 was his best as he pitched two scoreless innings.
As for Sauer, the 26-year-old has appeared at one MLB level this season, allowing him to win one in 1.2 innings with a 5.40 ERA.
The former New York Yankees’ second round pick dominated Triple A Oklahoma City, but has won a 1.84 ERA in four appearances (three starts). He had 14 strikeouts and allowed three runs in 14.2 innings.
With a bullpen game scheduled for Tuesday, Sauer will provide a ton of lengths to LA, who last pitched Triple-A OKC on April 23rd.
