On Sunday afternoon, the Knicks were heading down the road to face a piston in Game 4 of their first round matchup. New York led a 2-1 lead in Sunday’s contest.

It was a very contested game between New York and Detroit. The Pistons knew how much they needed to win in Game 4. This was the difference in the series, which was 3-1 and 2-2. In the final seconds of Game 4, Cade Cunningham missed a midrange shot, and the ball bounced off a few players and turned to the corner. Tim Hardaway Jr. picked up the ball and shot a three-pointer. Knicks’ Josh Hart reached out, but the foul was not called. After the game, the NBA refs were approved in a pool report.

Sunday’s Game 4 between the Knicks and the Piston was back and forth. The ref allows for more physicality in the postseason and we’ve seen it in this series. There is no love lost between New York and Detroit. This is the first postseason appearance for the Pistons since 2018-19. For many players, it’s their first playoff experience. Detroit was leading late in the game, but was unable to secure a deadline and victory.

However, losing Game 4 94-93 on Sunday wasn’t entirely due to the pistons. Tim Hardaway Jr. shot a three-pointer before the final buzzer rang. While taking the shot, Knicks’ Josh Hart jumped into the air to compete for a shot from Hardaway Jr. Hart contacted Hardaway Jr., but the foul was not called. Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff was furious and ran to court suing the phone.
