The Phoenix Suns are about to blow the roster this offseason and start fresh again around Devin Booker.
What appears to be the beginning of the Phoenix Suns dynasty has turned into an unmitigated disaster as Devin Booker’s three major players, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beale, failed to make the mark.
This summer, the Suns traded Kevin Durant for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and several draft picks for the Houston Rockets.
The Sands used this year’s pick to choose Kaman Mallach. And in an astonishing move, the Suns also traded Mark Williams on draft night.
With a whole new roster around Devin Booker, the Suns are about to start their path to become a candidate again.
The Suns have a roster with no doubt some gaps, with some positions not as deep as the other spots on the team.
This is what we expect their starting lineup to look like:
| Starting lineup | Second unit |
| Devin Booker | Jared Butler |
| Jalen Green | Grayson Allen |
| Dillon Brooks | Ryan Dunn |
| Lois O’Neill | Nick Richards |
| Mark Williams | Khaman Maluach |
With no starting level point guards in the book, Devin Booker must fill out the position again unless the Suns traded.
New Phoenix Suns head coach Jordan Ott is the best player in both positions, so we trust Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks will get off to the start.
As for Khaman Maluach, he has the talent to become the Suns starting center for the next few years. But he will have to win his starting spot.
The Phoenix Suns don’t have a strong roster compared to the rest of the heavy batters in the Western Conference, but they have no choice but to try and compete next season.
The Suns front office was unable to regain its first round pick from the Houston Rockets. This means you won’t be able to enjoy the benefits of a bad season.
The Suns’ best case scenario is to get a top 10 seed in the West and enter the playoffs in some way.
But given what their roster looks like, they’ll need miraculous performances from Devin Booker and other young stars to make it happen.
