According to NBA Insiders, the New York Knicks were able to trade potential defensive players this season.
The New York Knicks had their best season in a quarter century, but you don’t know. They fired head coach Tom Thibodeau, replacing him with Mike Brown, and hopes for the Knicks are at least a return to the conference finals.
The Eastern Conference was weakened by Achilles’ injuries, which dominated the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers from the fight. This is when New York runs towards the finals and they can make a big deal to do so.
Mitchell Robinson played an integral role in getting the Knicks in last season’s Eastern Conference Finals. He had nine blocks in the series against Pacer, which included a three-block game in Game 5, and averaged 7.1 rebounds per game from the postseason bench.
His rim protection was elite during their driving, making up for the defensive limitations of the town of Karl Anthony. But Mitchell Robinson’s biggest problem isn’t his performance on the court. That’s his health. He played 17 games with the Knicks last season and 31 games the previous season.
Robinson’s performance makes him a key piece of candidates when he is in court. If he could put together a healthy stretch, athletic James L. Edwards III wondered whether the Knicks would try to maximize his value in trade.
He writes: “The most compelling scenario that could possibly appear during the season is whether Robinson doesn’t miss the time to reach the trade deadline and will dominate the first 35 games of the regular season, just like the playoffs.
“Will the Knicks use his play and contract expiration to exchange him? Will New York continue to track him down the title, not breaking up continuity and risk losing him at the free agency? There are pros and cons to this scenario.”
Looking out, New York had close knitting last season, which defeated the Celtics and took its own way to the conference final. However, summer reports suggest that this is not the case, and one of Brown’s face’s biggest tasks is to undo the unit.
Part of the reason behind Thibodeau’s firing was his clash with Mikal Bridges. He even gave Bridges a huge few minutes with his pimples and was frustrated by his workload.
According to NBA insider Fred Katz, OG Anunoby was also a player who was unhappy with Thibodeau’s methods.
NBA analyst Marcus Thompson recently said “chemical erosion” between Jalen Branson in New York and the town’s star pairing could lead to Brown’s firing.
He said in good spirits in good faith, “If that happened, it’s because Mike Brown couldn’t stop the erosion of chemistry in that locker room.
Robinson doesn’t seem to be New York’s biggest point of interest this season. They just need to put together their teams.
