As the New York Knicks were about to complete their roster heading into a new season, they reached out to the team, with Mike Brown recently praised.
The New York Knicks did an incredible job with their roster this summer. Mike Thibodeau’s firing was Domino’s first fallen.
The Knicks signed some depth pieces this offseason, bringing in Gershon Yabsel, Jordan Clarkson, Laundry Shett and Malcolm Broddon.
Mike Brown has done a good job using these stars in his first two preseason victories with the Philadelphia 76ers, but the Knicks front office knows they can’t sign them all without some changes.
If the Knicks want to maintain both Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon, they will need to make a transaction due to CAP restrictions. And it could be the young star that was impressed in Abu Dhabi.
Jake Fisher recently released a report on Steinline. On the topic of the New York Knicks, Fisher revealed that the Knicks know that they need to trade to maintain both Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon.
The Knicks are about to trade Pacom Dadiettes and appear to have made several calls to gauge interest. In fact, some teams believe the Knicks will play Dadiet in Abu Dhabi and convince others of his skills.
“New York has to trade someone, as we have extensive coverage to keep both Malcolm Brogdon and Laundry Chamett on the opening night roster.
“And the focus of that deal has been on Pacom Dadiette, the previous first-round pick, since the Knicks signed two veterans and signed nine contracts.
“Sources have told Steinline that the Knicks have actually called several teams and already called several teams to gauge their interest in Dadiet.
“The Knicks then began dadieting against Sixus in two games of their first team in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
“When I was working on the phone on Friday, many teams were convinced that New York had a dadiet in the starting lineup purely to introduce him to potential trading partners.”
After the Knicks’ second victory over the 76ers, Mike Brown praised Pacom Dadiette for his potential and said he could become a defensive monster, but he needs to play with more concentration and hunger.
“He could become a monster defensively. He must be aware of all his possessions, defensively, with a sense of urgency.”
Dadiets in trade may be the Knicks’ best way out of the current conundrum. Especially since the Knicks don’t want to trade Miles McBride, they see a lot of value in him.
We wait and see what happens with the Knicks, but hopefully we’ll go to a team that can absorb his pay without sending anything in return.
