Manchester United previously suffered a 4-1 loss to Newcastle United in today’s Premier League, with Altai Bayindeal performing disastrously.

The Red Devils have had a disappointing season so far, and their performance against Newcastle was a different horror show. Despite many disappointing performances on the pitch for Manchester United, Altai Bayindeal was unable to seize the opportunity handed over to the Magpie.

The 26-year-old Turkish International got off to the place of Andreonana after an error-prone performance from the former Milan goalkeeper. The Bay Indeal was expected to step up on Manchester United’s goal to produce reliable performances.

However, he was rather mediocre with his decisions, shot stops and distribution from behind. It was his poor pass that allowed Bruno Guimarès to ride on Newcastle’s scoresheet, and he also shined quite a bit on his general pass throughout the game. Türkiye International completed just 47% of its passes.

Manchester United fans would have been relieved to see Onana being dropped for a match against Newcastle, and they would have been hoping for an improvement in the Bay Indeal. However, the 26-year-old is totally disappointed and it will be interesting to see if he is being given more opportunities in the coming weeks.

Altay Bayindir is not enough

Bayindir joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023, but since then he has been unable to hold back his usual starting spot. Today’s performance clearly shows why Turkish International has failed to drive things like Onana out of its starting lineup despite its error-prone performance.

The 26-year-old is clearly not enough to start a club like Manchester United, and the Red Devils must make signing quality goalkeepers a priority in the summer. Both Onana and Bayindil are pretty mediocre and clubs hoping to win a major trophy cannot rely on them to become goalkeepers of their first choice.
