The Los Angeles officially released right-handed Matt Soher according to the team’s transaction log.
Sauer was designated because Dalton’s Rushing was on the injured list and was assigned by the the weekend when Chuckie Robinson was called. After clearing the exemption, the chose to return Sauer to their free agency.

Sauer, 26, joined the this offseason on a minor league contract. The right-hander was to create a roster for the Tokyo Series, but he didn’t appear in either of the two games. He then returned to Triple-A ahead of the opening game of the domestic season.
A week later, Sauer was called to the and allowed him to earn money from 1.2 innings of work. He was then sent back and spent several weeks with minors before returning to late April. He made the first (and only) MLB start of the season, pitching five innings and allowing one run in a 15-2 victory for the Miami Marlins.
Sauer made five appearances in LA in May and two more in June. His final outing then took place in August, where he allowed two runners to win in two innings.
Overall, Sauer has made 10 major league appearances with the this season, earning an ERA of 6.37 in 29.2 innings. Over 18 appearances (starting 17) in Triple A, he won a 5.86 ERA in 83 innings.

Sauer is free to join any team for the final weeks of the 2025 season.
