The Omani squad for the Asian Cup 2025 has been announced, and Jatinder Singh has been appointed captain

On Monday, August 25th, Oman Cricket announced the 17-man team of the Oman National Cricket Team for the upcoming Asian Cup 2025.

Jatinder Singh has been named skipper for the Oman National Cricket team at Continental Tournament, with Duleep Mendis as head coach.

Team Oman has set up to make their first appearance at the Asian Cup

Omani’s national cricket team will make their first appearance at the Asian Cup in the upcoming edition of the tournament. They are located in Group A alongside India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Oman won the competition venue after finishing at home at the 2024 ACC Premier Cup.

They want to impress the cricket world with their debut appearance at the event and ensure that their teams achieve that goal. The selectors chose a strong team.

Veteran opener Jatinder Singh will lead the batting lineup with Hammad Mirza, Mohammed Nadeem and Vinayak Shukla.

Also, Hassnain Ali Shah, Mohammad Imran, Faisal Shah, Sufyan Mehmood and Shakeel Ahmed form excellent spin bowling units. Four debutants appear on the team: Sufyan Yousuf, Zikriya Islam, Faisal Shah and Nadeem Khan.

“Our buildups are strong, with ongoing national T20 tournaments bringing increased competition and training sessions are intensely concentrated. It’s not just about skill. In high pressure games against elite teams, mental strength is equally important.

“We hope to have an impact on this Asian Cup and introduce Oman as a growing cricket country. Oman will enter the Asian Cup with a blend of young people with his experience of determination to leave a mark against the Asian cricket powerhouse.
