The New Orleans Pelicans were unable to launch their 2025 NBA Summer League campaign with a victory.
The New Orleans Pelican recently locked the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Horn in the 2025 Las Vegas NBA Summer League.
After the final buzzer, the Pelicans served a 98-91 loss, losing the tournament.
Speaking of matchups, Jeremiah’s terror, the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, was in the game, but he couldn’t make a big impact.
The Pelican Summer League team is led by assistant coach Corey Brewer. After a 7-point loss, Brewer gave honest feedback on his defeat and horror performance.
“He’s young, he did a good job. We had too much sales. The whole team. He’s not scared. You wouldn’t know he’s an 18 year old. He’s like a grown man. This is great for us,” Brewer told the media.
Due to context, the fear was 14 points, two rebounds and two assists, with 27 minutes of playing time with the Timberwolves. He did so while shooting an overwhelming 4-for-12 four from the field.
Furthermore, the Fear had seven team-high turnovers, which certainly prevented the Pelicans from reaching their potential. Still, Coach Brewer only praised the rookie.
“He’s the vocalist, he’s leading the guys, he’s talking, and it’s big for him,” Brewer added.
Fear aside, many were also excited to see Derrick Queen playing his first game for the Pelican. Coach Brewer gave the Queen 27 minutes in the first game.
In those minutes he donated 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists for the Pelicans. But like the terror, the Queen had a hard time holding the ball as she committed seven turnovers.
Nevertheless, Coach Brewer has an unwavering faith in the rookie and has made a big promise about Queen’s performance in the next game.
“You see a flash of what he’s going to be. He’ll get better. It’s good to keep this first game out of the way. Next game, trust me, he’ll get much better.”
Second, the Pelicans are all set to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2025 NBA Summer League.
