Muncie was injured in six innings of Wednesday’s game. White Sox outfielder Michael A. Taylor slid into Muncie’s lap, trying to steal the 3 base. Muncie’s knees bent backwards and he felt pain immediately.
After the match, Muncie took his first test, and manager Dave Roberts became optimistic about his injury.

“I feel optimistic about the many tests they’ve done now,” Roberts said Wednesday night. “And I think our hope is that it’s a sprain. So obviously, over the next few days he’s sure he’ll probably go down, but the MRI (Thursday) will be shown more.”
Nevertheless, Muncie will miss out on time due to an unfortunate injury. In the interim, Lewis will score his first shot at the and MLB level.
The swift outfielder, who stole 67 bases at the Athletics in 2023, cut .292/.394/.458 with eight home runs, 37 RBI, 38 stolen bases and .852 OPS in Triple A Oklahoma City.
