Arsenal was defeated 1-0 at home in the first leg of today’s UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
The gunners are totally disappointed by their loss in Game 1 and will be interesting to see if they can turn things around in Game 2.
Arsenal recently missed Liverpool’s Premier League title, but they wouldn’t want to crash from the Champions League. A shortage of quality strikers has been costing them this season and the lack of clinical finishers has been a problem for them again tonight.
Leandro Trossard was given the opportunity to lead the line against Arsenal’s PSG, but the Belgian attacker gave a disappointing performance. Not only did he miss out on a big chance to score a goal for his side, but his overall display was also overwhelming.
The 30-year-old attacker lost the ball 14 times, and he failed to create a great opportunity for his teammates. He also died only a few times, with only 67% accuracy.
Arsenal requires an upgrade of the Leandro Trossard
It’s no secret that Arsenal needs a quality attacker. Belgian performance shows that if you’re serious about winning major trophies, you need to bring an upgrade in the summer. While there is no doubt that he has been a useful player for Arsenal since the 30-year-old joined them, he is not enough to start for a team hoping to win a Premier League title or Champions League.
The Belgian is very effective as a team player, and Arsenal has to limit his role exactly. Clinical goal scorers will be required in the summer, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to insert their weaknesses on the side during the summer transfer period.
