One of the top bailouts expected to move is right-handed Ryan Hellsley of the St. Louis Cardinals. The 31-year-old is a two-time All-star on an expired contract and could be addressed with the Cardinals team, 3.5 games behind the third and final wild card spot in the National League.
Last week, Healthley seemed to believe he was leaving while talking to Athletic.
“I’ll go 90% and stay 10%,” Healthley said.
On Tuesday, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand provided an update on Helsley, calling him “one of the most popular trade targets” two days before the deadline. The were listed among six teams known to be him.

Healthley has made 36 appearances this season and won a 3.00 ERA with 41 strikeouts in 36 innings. Last year he made his second career All-Star appearance, finishing the year with a 2.04 ERA that exceeded 66.1 innings with 49 league-leading saves.
Over his seven-year career, Healthley has 2.67 ERAs and 105 saves in 275 appearances.
Healthley gave the the highly leveraged right-handed rescuer they were looking for. He has an expired contract, but his high interest in the league could be a costly three-month loan for the regular season and playoffs.
