The San Antonio Spurs have shots that disrupt the balance of power at the Western Conference Off season.
The organization already has a franchise superstar in Victor Wenbanyama, and he is surrounded by a talented core.
After all, the San Antonio Spurs have De’aaron Fox, Stephon Castle and a second overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. So it would be wise to develop chemistry for Young Core and bring the NBA championship.
However, the Spurs also have the option of swapping some of their assets to trade with Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant. why? Enter win-now mode immediately.
Recent reports say the Spurs have reportedly contacted the Suns about Durant’s deal. The Spurs considered the asking price too high, but it could be that they would counter with a better offer.
Or even better, the Suns could cut the asking price for the NBA champions twice as much, quickly resolving a troublesome situation before next season.
But former NBA player Jeff Teague doesn’t want the Spurs to thwart their current core and pair Durant with Wenbagnama.
“I don’t want to meet him with the Spurs. I want to see Wenby have his moment. He’ll still be alive, but KD is very Hooper,” Teague said on the Club 520 podcast.
He added: “KD doesn’t even need a great shot. He can get 14 shots and maybe he’ll make a 12. But what I’m saying is Wenby is his own star.
“I don’t want him to see him on another star like KD and not like that. Fox is a star, but that’s (different).”
Knowing Durant is sure he will settle in Wenbanyama.
But that’s not even a problem as Teague thinks the KD-Wemby duo will be like Luka Doncic and Lebron James of Los Angeles Lakers.
“It’s like LeBron’s Luca. We don’t really like LeBron and Luka. KD is still an average of 27,” Teague said with confidence.
“Let’s start this new Shaq and Kobe with these two young guys (Fox and Wenbanyama).
Comparing Fox and Wenbanyama with the legendary Kobe Bryant Shaquille O’Neal duo is certainly a controversial take.
The point of Teague is that Fox and Wenby can play together instead of giving up on them.
