The Los Angeles have stopped pitching left-handed pitcher Blake Snell from throwing at least a week, manager Dave Roberts told reporters ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Washingtonians.

According to Sonja Chen of MLB.com, Snell will not be throwing until at least Monday, but there will be no planned medical interventions. The team wants him to rest. Roberts called this Snell’s “best case scenario.”
Snell was placed on the list injured with inflammation in his left shoulder on Sunday. The two-time Cy Young Award winner said he’s been dealing with pain for three weeks and ultimately he felt like he couldn’t pitch it anymore.
“I was feeling that for about three weeks,” Snell said Monday. “When I got to Philadelphia, I thought I could pitch it. I tried to toss, catch, throw it. This couldn’t suck. I was hoping to get through it and pitch.
Snell misses at least a few weeks, but hopes he doesn’t have to miss too many. In the meantime, left-handed pitcher Justin Wobleski will start in his place on Tuesday and will remain in the rotation as long as Snell is out.
Snell signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the this offseason. Throughout the two starts this year, he pitched nine innings and allowed seven runs (two) with 7 hits on eight walks and four strikeouts.
