Trivino was designated for allocation by the San Francisco Giants, cleared the exemption and was elected to the Free Institution on Friday.
The veteran signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the San Francisco Giants in the offseason. Trivino scored a spot on the first day’s roster following an outstanding spring performance.
Trivino has recorded an ERA of 5.84 in 12.1 innings against the Giants this season. Right-handed people have a career 3.94 ERA and spend time with the Oakland Athletics, the New York Yankees and most recently the Giants.
Trivino’s best performance came in athletics in 2021 when he won a 3.18 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 73.2 innings.
Given the current usage of Bullpen, it appears that Trivino can provide reinforcements to pitching staff. The bullpen is currently leading the league in the innings. This is an exercise that manager Dave Roberts said was not sustainable.
