According to his Slovenian teammate, Luka Donsic has made his dream come true for the La Lakers, but their players have to match his way of thinking.
Luka Doncic is set to take on the mantle as the face of the Los Angeles Lakers. The franchise has been lucky enough to find a successor to the LeBron James title and add yet another megastar to its list of great stars.
The young star has carried out his future this summer as Don Chick re-signed $165 million with the Lakers.
Donsic also took a staggering shape ahead of the new season, with Lakers fans crossing the moon with his new commitment to health.
But after Luka Donsic’s sparkle at Eurobasket last month, one of his Slovenian teammates laid out a blueprint for success that Donsic’s Lakers teammates need to understand.
Slovenian player Allen Omic spoke to the domestic outlet sports Kurb about his time and playing with Luca Donsic and the national team.
He explained that Donsic is not as easy as you might imagine, as he is just as tough as himself. Also, to play with Luka, your teammates need to do a lot of work around him.
“It’s not as simple as it looks. Luka is a winner. He wants to win. He asks the same from his teammates, so he pushes everything perfectly.
“At the same time, there’s a lot to do for him. We helped him. We all made the most of our abilities.
“It was a great experience for me, but I know it was much easier to play with him five years ago. I was younger, more energetic, faster, better… and still, I can say I really enjoyed it.”
Clearly, Luka Doncic is a player who plays at the highest level throughout the NBA season. And as a result, he asks all his teammates for the same.
The superstar got a lot of criticism in his heart and worked on his game this summer. In fact, according to assistant coach Greg St. Jean of La Lakers and Slovenian, Doncic was Slovenia’s best defender at Eurobasket.
If he brings the same level of energy and effort to the LA Lakers next season, the franchise has a huge chance to compete for the championship.
Doncic and The Lakers are locked up together in the near future, and Doncic hopes to find success in their first full season with the team.
