The “story” of Mark Marquez facing difficulties in Qatar MotoGP is being considered in the Clash MotoGP podcast.
Marquez fell from the lead on the American circuit – one of his historically favorite tracks – where teammate Pecco Bagnaia managed to get a much-needed victory.
The fourth round of the season is this weekend in Qatar and is widely described as a circuit that Bagnaia enjoys.
However, Marquez and Bagnaia both have one win in Qatar in the Premier class.
Marquez has five podiums (two of which came in a Nip and Tack battle with Andrea Adovizios), while Bagnaia has three.

Is Mark Marquez the disadvantage of Qatar Motogue?
“I think Pecco’s season actually starts after Jerez,” Lewis Duncan told the Crush MotoGP podcast.
“That’s where he clicks. After the test day, he can try things out, that’s where we see Pecco kicking.
“He goes there, he goes right away, then unlocks something on the day of the test.
“I don’t understand, I don’t believe it, we will see a big dramatic turn where Pecco controls Qatar.
“It’s not Marquez’s strongest circuit, but why do you believe he’s not in a position to do what he’s already done?
“He crashed in Kota, but when he fell it was 2.2 seconds down the road. He wasn’t under exact pressure.
“I’m not sure about the noise and the intense.”
Jordanmoreland added:
Alex Marquez is leading the MotoGP Championship for the first time in Qatar.
He placed notably second in all sprints and all Grand Prix in the first three rounds.
Mark Marquez is the point behind Alex as he fell to Kota.
Bagnaia is a 12-point drift from leader Alex, but after the first victory of the campaign in America, there is finally momentum on his side.
