Former Chelsea star Joe Cole supported Noni Maduce to prove that a few people were wrong after moving to Arsenal this summer.
Madueke recently left the Blues and joined Gunner to join in a somewhat surprising move. I don’t think England International is necessarily good enough to improve on Mikel Arteta’s side.
Still, Cole is a huge Madueke fan and believes he will be given a key role on the left side of the Arsenal offense.
See the video below as Cole feels that Madueke is a powerful player who can give Arsenal something a little different after the slightly indifferent forms of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Torosador these days…
Joe Cole returns Noni Madueke’s transfer to a successful weapon
“I think Noni is a very good player,” Cole told the Heiters.
“I think Mikel Arteta saw it… he played games on the left occasionally for Chelsea and did really well. He’s strong and can get out.
“Martinelli missed the game due to an injury. Obviously he scored a goal, but he never felt he was going to kick.
“I think it’s a great signature for Arsenal. It improves their team and I think we’ll see him play a lot on the left because he can play both sides.”
Should Madueke start an Arsenal game?
Some Arsenal fans may already think it’s worth starting Maduce via Martinelli.
The Brazilian winger was poor in his weekend victory at Manchester United, so Arteta was able to make a little change to his front three for his next match against Leeds.
Madueke has shown some possibilities for Chelsea, but he is still young enough that he can improve even further if given the right guidance and considerable play time.
