Davis has allowed 13 runs in five appearances this season, but his most recent outing allowed 10 runs in 1.1 innings against the Houston Astros. The right-handed ERA entered that unfortunate Independence Day match at 5.79, but his brutal performance determined his fate.
During his stay at Triple-A Oklahoma City, things were better for Davis, scoring a 3.94 ERA on 21 outings for minors. During this time he threw 38 strikeouts at just 15 steps.

The offering was also his slowest arsenal with an average speed of 80 mph, but the opposing batting average was .250 against that, the lowest in his repertoire.
