The Los Angeles should have two pitching reinforcements in the coming weeks.
Right-handed pitchers Tony Gonzolin and Evan Phillips are expected to begin rehabilitation assignments by the end of this week as they approach their 2025 debut for the .

Gonsorin, 30, has not pitched since 2023 after undergoing surgery by Tommy John and missing the entire 2024 season. Gonsolin began three rehabs at the end of last year, but was not revitalized due to the postseason.
This spring, Gonsorin entered camp in the race for the fifth starter spot. However, he suffered minor injuries while gaining weight, and was forced to start the season on the injured list, paving the way for Dustin to win his job.
“I was squatting, I wasn’t even heavy,” Gonsorin said of how he was injured. “I think it was probably a bit off before, but then it was under load so I shifted a bit.
“It wasn’t too painful, but it was changing my throws, we wanted to take a break.
Gonsorin admitted to being extremely frustrated after getting very close to finally returning to big league action before the set break.
“I was in a really good place,” Gonsorin said. “I felt like my body was feeling good. The throw really feels good. It felt really beautiful. I did the pitch. And I was really sucked in, related to non-baseball, to have something like that.
Gonsorin will likely begin rehabilitation for the couple before returning to the in the middle or late April.

As for Phillips, he started late in the spring after dealing with a shoulder injury in his final postseason, leaving the World Series roster.
Phillips began to rise late in the spring, but is now ready to go for a rehabilitation assignment and potentially return to the .
Phillips won a 3.62 ERA in 61 appearances in LA last year. He had a 2.05 ERA in 62 appearances in 2023 and a 1.14 ERA in 64 appearances in 2022.
