“The UFC’s on Its Ass” - Darren Till Critiques Current State of the Sport 'Lacking Spark'
SHARE

Darren Till is not impressed with the current state of the UFC.

After dropping five of the final six fights within the Octagon, the “Gorilla” chose to test herself in boxing away from the UFC. Since then, Till has defeated Mohammad Mutie and Anthony Taylor and provided some successful shows on squared. He will then face another former UFC fighter, Darren Stewart, on Friday, May 16th, at the Misfits Boxing 21 headliner in Derby, England.

Before returning to the ring on Friday, he appeared on the Ariel Helwani Show, where he spoke not only about upcoming boxing matches, but also about the UFC’s creepy champion and inactive candidate slate.

“It looks like sh*t at the moment,” Till said. “When I was in the welterweight division, it seemed like a merely a killer line. Now the welterweight division is just sh*t. Sorry to say the welterweight division is on the ass.

“Middleweight is probably the best division for me at the moment. Lightweight heavyweight, on that ass, on the heavyweight ass. It’s on the ass. But I love the UFC. I love Dana (white).

Darren believes Kamza Chimaev will handle duplesis within two rounds

Among the names that are not fans of Till, there is the current middleweight title holder Dricus du Plessis. Of course, “The Gorilla” may be a bit hostile towards “DDP.” After all, Till’s final fight within the Octagon was a third-round submission loss against South Africa at UFC 282.

“By the way, I said, ‘f*ckhe’. By the way, he’s very sh*t and he’s so good that I can’t stand his guts,” Til said.

“With respect, I will never see past Doricus. He trains hard, is extremely dedicated, he is very strong. He has a nasty style that doesn’t make sense. I think he beats him in two rounds. But I really believe it.

Duplesis is scheduled to defend the title against the undefeated Chechen monster at UFC 319 in Chicago on Saturday, August 16th.
