It’s when NBA teams have to choose lanes, push playoffs, and accept tanking.
There is no doubt in which direction the Washington Wizard is heading. But even if they are perceived as one of the worst teams in the NBA, there are always ways to get even worse.
The Wizards’ recent game against the Portland Trail Blazers certainly stands out in terms of microdistribution.
Jordan Pool played just 11 minutes compared to a shock victory in the 30 against the Nuggets in the previous game.
Portland won 112-97 against the Wizard, expanding its advantage with a 30-21 run in the third quarter, effectively killing the game.
The NBA recently fined the Utah Jazz after Lauri Markanen missed the game. The wizard’s tanking method works around these rules.
By resting early after starting the player, that’s currently a great way to tank. Fans recently expressed their anger for the Toronto Raptors after giving Scotty Burns a rest in a close game.
Speaking about ESPN’s pardon, Tony Kornheiser urged the NBA to investigate the wizard for a fine distribution to the blazer.
He said:
“They will play Utah next, because the losers are introducing this, just like the NBL has a gambling partner.
In fact, Sarr had an average of 26.9 per game for 22 minutes. Khris Middleton averaged 22.9 in the wizard. This is half of the number against Portland.
Once the worst team of the season is over, there is a high chance that they will win the number one pick in the NBA Draft Lottery. The Wizard won the second pick in the draft last season, picking Alex Searle.
The Wizard’s victory over the Wizard probably wasn’t their plan or nugget. And they tried to avoid picking up another victory against the Portland Trail Blazers.
This season, the Wizards hold a 15-22 record and hold the worst record in the Eastern Conference behind the 17-winning Charlotte Hornets.
However, they coincided with the 15-winning Utah Jazz at the Western Conference, and as Kornheiser points out, the upcoming game between the two teams could be crucial at the end of the season.
