Leeds United reportedly has Manchester City midfielder Calvin Phillips one of the targets in the top summer transfer window.
The Yorkshire outfit is preparing to return to the Premier League after winning the championship this season. This summer, you will need to work to strengthen your team for the next Top Flight Survival battle.
Phillips previously shines Leeds and could be a good option for Daniel Fark’s side, but Man City is certainly trying to get England International to go.
Phillips is currently on loan from City in Ipswichtown, and their demolition certainly means he won’t stay there.
Looks like someone to watch from Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United
Discussing the situation from Phillips to Leeds, transfer expert Graeme Bailey told Leeds United News:
“He could be very good. He’s still a very good Premier League player. He made some wrong decisions. He should have gone to Newcastle, but you’ll be surprised if he decides not to get Phillips back.
“He’s one of Leeds’ top targets. A loan with options. Leeds has no issues matching what Ipswich is paying for. My understanding is that he wants to come back. Leeds wants him.
Leeds needs a good transfer window to have hopes to keep up
The fact that all three newly promoted aspects have returned straight this season will be a big warning for Leeds.
It is certainly important to have a strong transfer window that introduces experienced names like Phillips. Otherwise, you could become the next name to go straight back to next year’s championship.
