England manager Thomas Tuschel has admitted to speaking to Crystal Palace centre back Mark Guech since his late summer transfer to Liverpool.
Guehi was very close to joining the Reds, with initial agreements between the two clubs in place, but the players were also in medical care.
It reported on the last minute move, according to Athletic, as Oliver Glasner asserted that a replacement would be necessary to pass the captain’s exit.
Tuchel claims Guehi responded very well to being forced to stay in a palace showing all his professionalism, following the video clip below…
Thomas Touchel on Mark Guech’s response to Liverpool’s failure to move
“Of course we chatted with him,” Tohel said when asked about Guehi at his press conference.
“He looks absolutely fine and looks very impressive on the field. He’s been having a very impressive few weeks behind him… he’s the main driver of Crystal Palace’s success.”
He added:
What will be next for Guehi after the Liverpool transfer saga?
Guehi is the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, so this is certainly not a chance for Liverpool to try and sign him.
There have already been speculations from football insiders about the LFC trying again at England International in January.
Liverpool still has similar situations now, so they can bring someone in Guehi’s caliber.
Konate is also the final year of the contract, allowing Anfield to be left unattended next summer, making Guehi the ideal alternative.
Still, if Guehi suspends his contract, it would certainly be difficult to win the race for his signature, as many other clubs could move for him as well.
