"There's no difference"... Dwyane Wade points out Luka Donsic and Nicola Zhokic, he feels strong

Dwyane Wade reveals how Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic are treated differently by the media despite their physiques.

The Dallas Mavericks defended the decision to trade Luka Donsic by questioning the fitness and dedication to maintaining the elite physique of the 5x NBA All-Star.

Not only the Mavs, but the media also threw the shade for being overweight on the current Los Angeles Lakers superstar and not giving 100% to the floor.

However, Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade feels differently about Don Sic and his misconceptions about his physique.

Fans often confuse fitted players with people with muscular builds. But the triple-fold NBA champion D-Wade recently explained why it wasn’t.

“No one has to look like it’s carved. That’s a misconception. It’s not how you look, it’s about how you’re in, you can play both ends of the floor in the way you need.”

He added:

“If you want to talk about the ‘no-muscle’ style, his body was no different to Luka’s. ”

As Wade pointed out, Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Zhokic didn’t have a sculpted physique, but he has already won three NBA MVPs, leading the team to the 2023 title.

Jokic recently faced Flak for his offseason plan after the early elimination of the Nuggets from the 2025 NBA playoffs, but that’s close to what Doncic has to face all season.

If it is not muscular and carved, what can you do if it is not comparable to the player’s abilities that affect the game? Well, Wade explained that too.

“Are you at peak state or not at peak state of what you’re expecting from a superstar player? That’s the biggest conversation,” concluded the Heat legend.

Wade’s point should be taken seriously as Don Sic had another sensational season under his belt, despite being labelled as unfit for the media.

He lost 32 games due to injuries and returning to the game shape, but he averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game in the 2024-25 regular season.
