South Africa’s utility back Canan Moody warned, assuming the rugby championship title is Springbok’s property, saying something could happen in the final set of this weekend’s match.
The Boks defeated Argentina 67-30 on Saturday, and Dominant’s late performance once again proved a difference on Lassi Erasmus’s side. This victory placed the Boks above the championship rankings, but led by a single point over New Zealand.
The second clash with Rospuma took place in London in Twickenham, where Moody was aware of the travel requirements beyond.
“We haven’t won the rugby championship yet,” Moody said after the match.
“I know there’s still work to do next week. There’s a travel element on Sunday so I keep bowing my head for results next weekend. After that, there’s something to celebrate.”
Moody added that he will finish the campaign to the best in hopes of Argentina swinging despite being out of running for the title.
He said: “They are a very passionate rugby nation and will come back to the fight looking hard at Saturday’s match, so they’ll come hard on us.
“That being said, we need to focus on ourselves and do our job rather than looking at everything else. For us, it’s focused on trying to work on Saturdays.”
He added: “We are trying to stick to our structure.
“That’s definitely why it’s going well, and it’s definitely trying to trust it and stick to our system. We have a balance between how we do things and it seems to work for us.”
