Manchester United hopes to sign a new right-wing back this summer.
Reuben Amorim has signed once for the club so far, Patrick Dorgu, left-wing back for Lecce, who joined the club in the winter transfer window.
The Portuguese manager is currently looking for players who can fit in their system and produce better results than what the current players are doing, to play his preferred formation.
Amorim wants a player who can fit his playing style and formation, so he wants to add more players to his team, especially in wide positions.
According to United, Mann United is interested in signing Marseille Wingbucklewis Henriquet.
The 23-year-old Brazilian was impressed with this season, scoring nine goals and eight assists in 31 appearances, introducing his offensive talent from his defensive role.
With United’s previous targets, such as Geovany Quenda choosing other clubs, Henrique has emerged as an important option to meet Amorim’s tactical requirements.
His ability to manipulate both a winger and a wingback is exactly what United need under Amorim, who can play in two different positions, with versatile purpose.
“United has seen Henrique in Marseille. They like him.” Journalist Graeme Bailey spoke to United with Focus.
“He’s the guy who keeps his eye on it. Right winger/right wingback. He’s Roberto de Zerbi’s right wing back and it was really good.”
Man United needs more speed and quality in a wide area
Brazil’s speed and ability to run with the ball are attributes United are attracted to.
Newcastle United and Everton are also interested, and Newcastle reportedly has begun consultations with Marseille.
Henriquet’s contract with Marseille will be held until 2028, with the French club strongly positioned for negotiations.
