Liverpool reportedly identified Real Madrid forward Rodrigo as the top target to replace Mohamed Sara if he leaves this summer.
The Reds are said to have been looking at Rodrigo for a while, and they are big admirers of Pacey’s goal scorer.
As Sarah is nearing the end of his contract at Liverpool, they are undoubtedly working hard to maintain Egyptian international, but it is also wise to plan his departure.
If he goes on to move on as a free agent this summer, according to Fichajes, it appears that Rodrigo will likely replace him with an offense on Liverpool’s list of targets.
Rodrigo has 15 goals and seven assists in all club and country competitions this season. If he was a regular starter for a team like Liverpool, he could get more.
Rodrygo Goes Transfer: Can he replace Mohamed Salah?
The truth is, perhaps no one can replace Sarah, who was probably the best player in the world this season.
However, as Rodrigo is an incredible talent and may be approaching the peak period of his career, it’s easy to see why the LFC considers him a potential replacement for Sarah.
But if the Los Blancos are open to getting such a critical first team player to go, that remains to be seen.
Perhaps there’s little reason to allow Rodrygo to leave, even if he’s struggling to continue playing regularly in the next few years.
The presence of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, who participated last summer, pushes Rodrygo down into the pocking order.
Still, Carlo Ancelotti is probably keen to have the depth that someone like Rodrigo offers to his team.
