Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho couldn’t stand it after last night’s final Europa League defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao.
The Red Devils are running a Premier League campaign and are currently sitting 16th at the table, but last night they had the opportunity to win Silverwear, but also got a Champions League qualifier.
Still, the Spurs closed it 1-0 thanks to Brennan Johnson’s first half goal.
As journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted, Garnacho was clearly not happy and did not etch his words when he spoke after the match…
Garnacho said: “It was tough for all of us. This season was shit. We lost the final and no one in the PL. It’s very difficult.”
What’s next for this Manchester United team?
It is clear that United will need to make major changes this summer after such a poor season, and imagine Garnacho as one of many players facing an uncertain future.
Argentina International is a great young talent that can be the joy to see on his day, but he was not consistent enough.
Currently, Reuben Amorim cannot afford to carry passengers. And it will be interesting to see if Garnacho and many others have been shipped to major team modifications.
Can Man United take something positive from a defeat?
All fans want to lift the finals and trophies that the club has won, but for now, it certainly has been covering up a major issue at Old Trafford.
The defeat against Tottenham allows United at least not to joke themselves and focus on correcting many of the mistakes this season.
Erik Ten Hag won two trophies at MUFC, but few claimed he was doing a good job at any point during his reign as manager.
