Aston Villa is reportedly expected to close sales of Young Forward Louie Berry this week to maintain it in line with financial fair play regulations.
The 22-year-old has long been considered a top young talent, scoring 16 goals in all competitions while on loan against Stockport County last season.
Barry had other loan spells before, but he played temporarily for Barcelona at the youth level before moving to Villa Park in 2020.
The report now suggests that Villa is preparing to cash in Barry as she can make pure profits from those who signed the academy.
Aston Villa is preparing for PSR-related player sales
Premier League profit and sustainability laws have been hitting villas hard these days. Midlands costumes are often forced to sell players to balance the book.
This meant that Douglas Lewis had to offload to Juventus last summer, but they also allowed John Duran to depart for Al Nassle in January.
Now it looks like Barry is up to date, but he’s probably not the only one.
Still, as England Youth International is set to leave this week, something is probably already progressing about one of them.
Although details have not yet been made, I imagine that after the promises he has made in his career so far, Barry has a lot of interest.
Also, many villa fans will be frustrated to see the young, homemade talent having to leave.
