Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergval has been sublime up until now this season, but is not the only teenager of the Spurs “superstar.”
The 19-year-old is making a £8.5 million commission look like a peanut after a great year and a half in North London.
Since Tottenham defeated Barcelona to the Bergval signature and joined from the Julgardens last February, the midfielder has advanced to the first team, earning a total of 45 appearances in all previous tournaments.
Bergval suffered an ankle injury until the end of 2024/2025. This prevented us from playing a role in the Europa League finals or semi-finals, but the Scandinavian sense has really come back with a bang.

He scored Tottenham’s first Premier League goal, winning West Ham 3–0 in the London Derby, and sent a professional guided loop header to Matt Hermansen, winning the match-winning man on his display.
Just a few days later, Bergval won the second player in the match award, playing a key role in Lewis Jr.’s own goal with Tottenham 1-0 win over Villarreal in the Champions League opener.
According to Spanish news Outelt As, Barcelona is still shaking after missing the midfielder, but it’s not really difficult to see why.
Bergvall has been called Tottenham’s next potential superstar, leaving highly rated young midfielder Archie Gray to climb the mountain, and he is about to establish himself as key player Undder Frank.
The 19-year-old has done very well in his debut season and extremely difficult circumstances. Ange Postecoglou was asked to push Gray into the centre of his defense amid the Spurs’ injury crisis last season, playing an unfamiliar, unpleasant role during a time of very trials.
The former Leeds United star praised this, but Bergval’s form, combined with Tottenham’s extra senior option, limits Gray’s playing time to just 89 minutes for this semester.

However, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Gray will not retreat from the challenge, but will fight Bergval for the Spurs team’s location.
“I think it’s a wake-up call. Look at what Lucas Bergball is doing. Gray is one of those players who never get away from fighting. I’ve seen him since he was 14, so I’m a bit biased,” Bailey told TBR Football.
“He’s an absolute superstar. He probably won’t, but he should drive the England fight. He has all the possibilities in the world.
“I’ve never helped him in the past, but Tottenham highly praised what he did when he was behind him last season. He’s a great footballer with a great football mind, so he could do that. So he can play in defense.”
Sharing more insights, Bailey still refused to rule out the prospects for Gray’s temporary move in January.
“He could be a Premier League defender, but he is a potential world-class midfielder. Tottenham has two absolute superstars in Bergval and Gray,” he added.
“When it comes to loans, I don’t think Gray wants that, but we can see. Searle plays a lot, and Bergval plays a lot.
Archie Gray will need to get game time at Tottenham this season
It is important that Frank hand over the minutes he deserves to the grey to further his development.
After weathering the storm of Tottenham’s 2024/2025 season, he won his place in the senior set-up. His versatility is also very appealing to the new Spurs boss.
It’s still very early days, and injuries still can hit the team and hand the route to regular first team action.
Ideally, he had acquired his place on a different route, but Frank welcomes players who are now working hard to fight for the much stronger Lily White side in terms of depth compared to last year.
