Brentford attacker Joane Wissa has linked his move from the club and has been discussing with several clubs in the summer move.
Tottenham is also interested in the 28-year-old, and manager Thomas Frank is confident in completing the transaction. Wissa played her best football under Frank at Brentford. The opportunity to reunite with the Danish manager can be exciting for players as well.
Newcastle United also wants to sign Wissa.
Tottenham needs a reliable striker
Tottenham needs someone to share the burden of goalscoring with Dominique Solanke next season. Last season, Wissa scored 20 goals, proving an ideal acquisition. But signing him isn’t easy. Brentford has already approved Brian Mbeumo’s departure from Manchester United, and they wouldn’t want to lose another important attacker.
Tottenham may have to pay a premium to complete the transaction.
Bailey told TBR Football:
“Thomas Frank, who worked with Wissa at Brentford, is sure he’ll choose Spurs if that leads to it.”
Yon Wissa may be seduced
The opportunity to join Tottenham is exciting for players. He will be able to play for a larger club at a higher level. He aims to test himself in the Champions League and fight for the trophy. Tottenham can provide him with that platform.
Having Thomas Frank at the club only makes Tottenham more likely to convince players. It is still unknown how the situation will unfold. Tottenham may have to file an offer that is too good to refuse to complete the transaction.
