The Golden State Warriors made NBA history with three records after a recent defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets.
The Golden State Warriors had an astonishing seven-game winning streak before facing the Denver Nuggets.
Given the Nuggets played without Nicola Jokic and Jamal Murray, many were hoping for an easy win for the Dub.
However, the Nuggets, led by a 38-point scoring explosion from Aaron Gordon, recorded an astonishing 114-105 victory over the Warriors.
Since the 2021-22 NBA season, the Nuggets have acted as a Kryptonite for Stephen Curry’s team. In fact, the loss on March 17, 2025 was a nine-straight loss at the hands of the Nuggets in the regular season.
Speaking of their recent matchups, the Warriors, who are usually one of the most talented teams in terms of shooting the ball, have defeated three NBA records behind awful performances.
The Warriors became the first team in NBA history to score under 25% (over 30 attempts) from the 3-point line, under 60% (over 25 attempts) from the free throw line, and over 20 turnovers in the same game.
Not only the NBA, but the WNBA team have never finished the game with such awful numbers. To put things in context, the Warriors shot 24.2% from three and 55.6% from the charity stripe, committing 20 turnovers.
Curry is often the best player for the Warriors. However, the assassin who faced the baby was taken out of the game completely by the Nuggets defenders.
He finished the night with 20 points, four rebounds and seven assists, shooting 28.6% off the field. Curry also committed a game-high 7 turnover with 36 minutes of playtime.
Despite such statistics, Jimmy Butler blames the loss and says, “It’s on ourselves, and it’s on us as a unit that wants to pick up slack for him.”
He added: “He is our leader and we have to protect him.”
The Warriors remained the sixth seed in the Western Conference, making them 8-2 in the last 10 games. After this heartbreaking defeat, things won’t be easy for the team.
All of them will next face off against the Milwaukee Bucks.
