Tom Aspinall has some pointers for Michael Chandler.
A three-time Bellator champion and one-time UFC lightweight title challenger, Chandler is currently in a career warst slump with one win on his last six outings. Most recently, he lost to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 in April and succumbed to a strike in the third round.
Aspinall recently posted a workout video to her YouTube channel featuring Pimblett. He had his own theory of why Chandler struggled.
“That’s a bad fight. … It’s odd because he’s clearly a really fit guy, but if he’s going to do a five-minute sprint, wouldn’t anyone be healthy?” Aspinall said. “He’s just going out there, he throws and sways from here, picking up a complete blast.
“That’s pissing for a lot of people fighting. I’m just surprised.”
With seven UFC appearances, Chandler won five post-war bonuses (including three fight awards), despite his poor record. His all-out style loved him to fans and won several famous matchups, but Aspinel thinks he could be more efficient, especially when it comes to cutting down flashy slums and wild hayers.
Aspinall recalls seeing Chandler’s loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 and knows that Pinblet can beat him.
“I was watching him think, ‘There’s no way Paddy can lose to this guy,'” Aspineol said. “I know what a lot of people were saying online: ‘He’s a tough battle for Mizuta.” I thought it was “an easy fight for Paddy.” And it was very easy. ”
Aspinall’s critical comments caught Chandler’s attention. Chandler responded in a thread and shot aspinall that he couldn’t secure the highly anticipated fight for John Jones.
“Didn’t that big Guber say this, like three years ago?” Chandler wrote. “And he was waiting for John as long as I did for Connor (McGregor).
Next for Aspinall, he defends him as the indisputable heavyweight champion when he faces Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi on October 25th.
