After his first podium finish on Snetterton in 2025, Tommy Bridewell hopes to continue his positive momentum at Knock Hill this weekend (July 4-6).
This was a complicated start to the season for Bridewell in the opening two rounds at Alton Park and Donington. His best result was sixth in the opening race of the season.
However, Snetterton BSB took the podium in both Race 1 and Race 2, making it a step forward for riders who finished runner-up in 2024.
Bridewell said this is a better understanding of the CBR1000RR-R.
“For me, the final round on Snetterton was much stronger and I took a good step towards understanding bikes,” Bridewell retorted.
“We still have weak areas, so we’ll continue to work as aggressively as we did with Snetterton this weekend, and move forward with that progress and fill in a bit more gap with those who have been in front of us so far.”
Looking for Knock Hill, Bridewell was unsure about the weather.
“It seems like there’s just a small part of everything in the mix, intermittent weather, a weekend like last year, so we have to take that,” Bridewell said ahead of Knockhill BSB.
“It was dry last Saturday and I won it, I managed to get away from them, and the two races on Sunday were wet and pretty miserable!”
The 2023 BSB champion continued, explaining the difficulty of the 1.3-mile (2km) Knockhill circuit.
“Knockhill is one of those rounds that I say is very nuggerry,” he said.
“That’s not necessarily trying to get the best pace for each corner, because in many cases, it’s quick to one part, but not quick to the other, so it’s all about stitching the laps together and balancing everything.
“I don’t mind that, I think it’s a tricky circuit for the 230 BHP superbike, but it’s great to see the number of Scottish fans coming out to see the strong following that BSB has around the country.”
