After a massively improved fourth qualification, Tommy Bridewell hit the podium for the first time in 2025 as the UK’s Superbikes season resumed in Snettan.
The growing position of the grid gave Honda Racing UK riders the opportunity to fight for the final podium after finding one of the few riders whose mechanical and riding style was not suitable for the new 22025 tires, Bridewell explained.
“Qualifying is strong for us, and it makes life so much easier. We’ve been working in another window this weekend. Honestly, the bikes are working better.
We’re still a bit lacking for sure and in the end these two guys are doing great riding so we’re still a bit behind, but honestly, we’re pleased with the progress we’ve made. ”
He couldn’t match either Kyle Ride or race winner Bradley Ray, but he had enough improvements to make him a good challenge to Rory Skinner in the fourth before finishing the race on technical issues. The former BSB champion took part in the credits for this, explaining that after the race he is pushing Honda verbally in the right direction to see the results.
“With a Honda, as you can probably imagine, I was working hard in the last few rounds with a little ear wash and a little stick – I’m working really hard – trying to understand where and why I can’t work with this new tire.
I have to be happy – at this point, the podium in this field is by no means a feat.
Podiums has been difficult to get Ray, featuring all six Rays so far – five wins, Skinner, Josh Brooks, Leon Haslam, Glen Irwin and Kyle Ride are the only other riders so far to have been Lostrum’s sniffed in 2025.
#46 was his ability to stop his biggest change to Honda more easily, allowing him to finally run the line he wanted and what he wanted to run the line he wanted to be something that is impossible in the opening two rounds of the season, Bridewell added.
“We stop the bike in the first few rounds, and it became difficult because the engine breaks don’t work because there’s no rear grip.
