The three-team trade of Los Angeles star Tommy Edman was called The Steal of the Century, and of course it is.

The gave up infielder Miguel Vargas, shortstop Alexander Albertus and shortstop Geral Perez for the Chicago White Sox. In return, LA acquired Edman and White Sox Michael Kopeck from the St. Louis Cardinals.
In 2024, Edman hit .237 with six home runs, 20 RBI and .711 OPS. He most notably reduced .328/.354/.508 in 16 postseason games to push the into a World Series title. He took home the honors of NLCS MVP.
This season, Edman continues to find success with the plate, and is a gift that continues to give while providing the ‘ flexibility as he can play anywhere in the diamond.
Edman, who is originally from California, appears to be grateful for the trade.
“It’s a really special experience for our family. It was great to get home,” Edman told Sonja Chen of MLB.com. “We’ll take my wife and I with us to help her wife Eli.
Edman’s loss in the lineup is certainly a major retreat while recovering from an ankle injury. Nevertheless, he played a pivotal role with the in 2025 as he bounced back between 2 base and center field this year.
