The Red Bull top boss straightened the record on his claims about Christian Horner’s difficult relationship with Helmut Marco.
Horner and Marco were at the heart of the internal challenges Red Bull Formula 1 team faced a year ago.
The future of team Max Verstappen is still questioned as their cars have been slowing since then.
However, Oliver Mintzlaff, managing director of F1 team’s parent company Red Bull GmbH, has questioned whether Horner and Marko are still “stiff” after last year’s difficulties.
Mintzlaff told Bild: “I am totally confident in all of my employees. This applies to our management team too.” Helmut and Christian want the most success and subordinate everything. We also discussed this again in the past few days. ”
Christian Horner v. Helmut Marco: “Not a Dream Marriage”
It was placed in Minzlaf that Horner and Marco’s relationship was not a “dream marriage.”
He replied: “It is clear that every relationship has its ups and downs.
“We must not forget that the two will be holding their 400th race together at Miami’s next Grand Prix.
“Helmut was the one who hired Christians in 2005. They have an incredible amount.
“It is clear that emotions sometimes boil with all the pressure, emotions, passions.
“But you have to sit together and discuss it behind closed doors. That’s what we’re doing.”
Red Bull heads for the F1 Miami Grand Prix next weekend. I’m somewhat cheating on my last performance in Saudi Arabia.
Verstappen was surprised by the qualifying round for Paul, but was hit by a five-second penalty early in the Grand Prix due to an incident with Oscar Piastri.
McLaren’s Piastri won two consecutive races, leading the driver’s championship, and Red Bull insisted Verstappen’s punishment – which ended his hopes for victory a big end – was too harsh.
However, Verstappen proved to be competitive with McLaren over the weekend.
