In race one at Aragon Worldsbk, Toprak Razgatlioglu won his 13th consecutive race in his title defensive season, which was perhaps the most difficult battle of his run.
It was only 0.030 seconds before separating Razgatriogle and Nicolo Brega on lap 18 of Race 1 at Aragon.
For Razgatlioglu, who had never managed better than his second in the year at Motorland, it was the Maiden World Superbike victory at Aragon that extended Brega’s championship lead to 44 points.
However, he explained that it wasn’t an easy victory, especially due to the strength of Brega, the final part of the rap.
“I’m very happy because I finally won at Aragon,” said Toprack Razgatriogle, speaking to worldsbk.com after race one in Aragon.
“It was a difficult race for me, and we fought a lot at first.
“I was focused on winning, but this was difficult for me because Brega was very strong in the final corner, and Ducati is the best in the straight back and the final corner.
“I was pushing very hard to get the gap in the first three sectors, and on the final seven or eight laps I realized he was on the limit.
“I push every single part of the wrap hard, every inch of it. I’m calm.”
Razgatlioglu pointed out that this lace style contrasts with the style that came before, despite its similar appearance to the result sheet.
“In the last race, I was riding alone,” he said.
“This weekend wasn’t the same. Everyone saw a great race!
“Nicolo was very strong here. There was no strategy. I focused on getting ahead of him and my pace.
“My pace today wasn’t that strong. The conditions were a little hotter than yesterday.
“I tried not to make any mistakes, but I finally won. It was close, but I didn’t focus on it and just won the race.”
