Tottenham Hotspur is now “seriously” keen to sign the “unstopped” offensive midfielder as a “replacement” for RB Leipzig’s Zabi Simons, journalist Sebastian Vidal revealed.
Spurs strengthen their pursuit of new offensive midfielders
Tottenham will be disappointed that he will not close the deal for the attacking midfielder as he triggered a £60 million release clause on Morgan Gibbs White’s Nottingham Forest deal.
That’s what Pete O’Rourke, a transfer correspondent for Soccer Insider, said:He was scheduled to get medical care last week, but Mori clearly raised these hurdles.
“Gibbs White had to go back to the woods to continue his preseason training this week, when he thought in his head he was going to become a Spurs player.
“Players are turning their minds towards the Spurs, and we expect that to happen once an agreement is made between Forest and Tottenham.”
However, Forest Star is not the only option for the finalist, and it has been revealed recently that RB Leipzig’s Zabi Simons has been “talking” to join the Spurs, but Chelsea and Arsenal are also enthusiastic and there is fierce competition for him to sign.
Lily White’s London rival is also negotiating with Simons representatives. This means it may be difficult to close the Dutchman contract.

The Spurs are racing for the attackers.
That’s according to X’s Vidal, who says Tottenham is “seriously looking at Jacob Ramsey as a potential replacement for Zabi Simons.”
Ramsey is considered a “dynamic” and “creative” midfielder, and Spurs are “very enthusiastic” to secure his signature, but the deal could be on the expensive side, given the Aston Villa man being valued at £50 million by his current employer.
Ramsey was touched by the “unstopping” villa
There are some indications that the Villa attacker could be a solid alternative for Simons, when Jamie Carager singled out last season to praise him. “He’s this fellow machine. You see him running with his legs open. He looks almost unstoppable.”
The 24-year-old also caught his eye in the Champions League and proved to be a constant threat with a 3-0 victory over the young boys.
That said, the Birmingham-born ace isn’t entirely prolific in the Premier League, with Simons and Gibbs White riding their scoresheets more regularly in the 2024-25 campaign.
player | League appearances | the goal | assist |
Morgan Gibbs White | 34 | 7 | 10 |
Xavi Simons | twenty five | 10 | 7 |
Jacob Ramsey | 29 | 1 | 5 |
So Ramsey should only be targeted if Tottenham misses both Gibbswhite and Simons.
