Tottenham Hotspur defender Mickey Van des Ben is a target for Real Madrid, but the North London outfit is trying to tie him into a new deal.
The 24-year-old has established himself as a player for the club and he is undoubtedly one of the best central defenders in the league right now. The Spurs don’t want to lose him, so they want to agree to a new deal with the players.
Spurs want a new deal for Mickey Van de Ben
According to former Premier League Scoutmic Brown, Tottenham is confident in securing an agreement with the Netherlands International.
“Tottenham wants Van de Ben to commit his future to the club.” Mick Brown told soccer insiders.
“They want to end speculation and interest from clubs like Real Madrid and other clubs that have been linked to the summer.
“So from their point of view, it makes sense that they want to tie him down to a new contract and I think they are sure they can get it done.”
Spurs can’t lose Van de Ben
Tottenham aims to build a team that can regularly compete for the trophies, and they can’t afford to sell the best players. The Dutch international is an essential asset to them, and losing him is not simply an option. It will be interesting to see if the player has decided to commit to the club for a long-term future.
It’s not surprising that Real Madrid is interested in him. He was able to develop into a world-class defender with experience. He will help them improve in the back. Spanish costumes require more depth and quality in the central defense.
The opportunity to join them is extremely exciting for most players and it will be interesting to see if the Netherlands International will want to move.
