According to journalist Rudy Garretti, Tottenham Hotspur has taken a major step towards pursuing Crystal Palace’s star Ebeki Eze.
Spurs has been officially notified to the palace and is ready to build a deal worth just £60 million, with performance-related bonuses bringing the entire package closer to £63 million.
Eze has not forced an exit from Selhurst Park, but Galetti reports that players have already given approval for the transfer.
He is said to be keen on the opportunity to take the next step in his career and test himself with a club with Champions League ambitions.
Ebeki Eze gave Tottenham’s movement his green light
For now, he is awaiting the results of a speech between the two clubs.
Crystal Palace finds itself in a difficult position. On the one hand, Eze is their most valuable asset and fan favorite, and is the centre of offensive play. Meanwhile, the deal, over £60 million, represents a massive financial boost that will allow the palace to strengthen multiple areas of the team.
Meanwhile, the Spurs are keen to quickly close the negotiations as they are trying to give manager Thomas Frank the creative midfield spark he wants.
The Spurs are trying to deal with their creative problems
The recent injuries suffered by James Madison and the departure of his son Hyun Min, bringing the Spurs shortage in the creative division.
They now identify Eze as their primary target, adding more depth and quality to their team.
They are confident and much more organized under new manager Frank, as they began the season with a 3-0 victory over Burnley.
Eze’s signature is a big statement from Spurs, indicating their ambitions. That means more, especially for the club and fans, as they sign players chased by Arsenal all summer.
