Tottenham Hotspur finds himself at a vital intersection, and questions are growing at the helm of Ange Postecoglou.
Following the recent 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, where the Spurs slipped to 16th at the Premier League table, the club is under pressure to consider alternative management options before the summer.
One name gaining serious traction behind the scenes is Fulham’s Marco Silva, with several reports suggesting that the club has already given an internal talk about his appointment. Now his side has led him to a respectable tenth position, and Silva, who is fighting in European places, has built a reputation for stability and tactical discipline.
Tottenham said Marco Silva is the perfect place for work
Former Everton CEO Keith Wynes recently put a lot of emphasis on the issue, noting that Silva’s track record fits the profile of what the Spurs are looking for.
Wynes highlighted the success of the Portuguese manager at the mid-table club, his familiarity with Premier League landscape and London.
Speaking about the Football Insider’s Insider’s Insider’s Insider’s Insider’s Interior Track Podcast, the critic said:
“Silva is probably running more than Iraara.
“I think he’s a more taxable character. He has London experience.
“He was with Everton in Watford, he runs on the board.
“I think he will run very well with the Spurs, he does well on a tight budget with Fulham, and that’s what Levy is looking for.
“We’ve seen numbers in Tottenham. They don’t spend much on wages or fees. That’s very low.”
Once considered a club, Fulham is constantly bounced back between departments, but is now competing with true European aspirations under Silva’s leadership.
His ability to provide results without resorting to large spending has reportedly piqued the interest of Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy. It is also reported that Silva will be open to leaving Fulham for Tottenham’s work if offered.
The 47-year-old coaching journey spans multiple leagues, from Estoril’s guide to Portugal’s top division, winning the Cup in Sports CP and achieving league success with the Olympiacos.
He also gained valuable experience in British football at Hull City, Watford and Everton before turning Fulham into the competitive Premier League side.
He continues to sign with Fulham until 2026, but a solid approach from Tottenham allowed him to test the water. With a clear need for a strategic reset, the Spurs could potentially provide Marco Silva’s balanced and proven approach to bring the club back to long-term stability.
