Chelsea are reportedly ready to make three signatures from Borussia Dortmund in a massive reform of their team this summer.
Since Enzo Maresca replaced Mauricio Pochettino as manager, the Bruce has had a slightly frustrating season.
Chelsea still has a long way from where they ideally like, with Maresca’s side currently ranking fifth in the Premier League table.
It is clear that more work will be needed to improve this team in order for them to become title challengers again, and the triple attack on Dortmund appears to be considered a business that does tricks.
Chelsea Plan Ambitious Borussia Dortmund Transfer Raid
According to a report by Fichejes, Chelsea will have a trio of Jamie Gittens, Karim Adeemi and Gregor Kobel’s Dortmund Star.
Given the current issues of the West Londoners, these certainly look like good potential additions that could make a real difference for next season.
Gittens and Adeyemi could be upgrades to inconsistent performers like Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, and Noni Maduke.
Kobel, meanwhile, could certainly be a great option for Chelsea for Robert Sanchez, who is dominated by goal.
Does Chelsea need more signatures or a change in approach?
On the one hand, it may make sense to look at this Chelsea team and decide that a better player is needed in many positions.
However, there are cases these days that, after very large spending, perhaps slowing down a bit to allow these players to gel.
After all, Liverpool has narrowly changed their team this season, moving from third place to the Runaway Premier League champions.
Chelsea also needs to rethink their policy of signing so many young players, perhaps, looking for more experience instead.
Gittens and Adeyemi show a lot of promise, but they still look like a similar profile to many of the current players, so maybe they don’t need what they need to really lift this side, like some of the greats of the past.
