The Minnesota Timberwolves sealed their spot in the playoffs after a great 116-105 victory over the Utah Jazz.
The Minnesota Timberwolves, led by Anthony Edwards’ 43-point performance, looked like a better team throughout the game and scored a key victory.
Rudy Gobert scored 19 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, but stepped up again for the T-wolf by blocking four shots in the game.
Coach Chris Finch was particularly impressed with bench players Donte Divinsenzo and Naz Reed with 27 points.
Finch said Divincenzo and Reid were playing well in recent games, but they struggled to fire the ball.
However, Divincenzo finally made a statement when he shot 4-8 from 3-point range against the Jazz, but the lead’s struggle continued beyond the arc.
However, last year’s sixth Man of the Year made him feel his presence by doing other good things on the court, helping his team get the win.
Speaking at the press conference, Coach Finch said:
“It was good to see a great game from Naz and Donte today. I think Donte shot leather out of the ball, but Naz did hostile plays, offensive rebounds, lots of things you have to do.
“It’s good to meet those guys. They played some of the last few games a lot, but they didn’t connect to the shot, so it’s pretty good.”
The first round matchup for T-Wolves has been decided, and they will face the fiery La Lakers.
With Luka Doncic playing the way he has in recent games, TO-Olves should be at his best if he wants a chance to win purple and gold.
Edwards has appeared in the game recently, and that’s a great sign, but Julius Randle, Divinsenzo and Reid all need to step up in this first round series.
Lakers manager JJ Reddick said he will be a tricky opponent for the team, considering his matchup against the T-Olbs.
Speaking about the first round series, Reddick said after the Lakers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, “a very difficult opponent, they’ve played everyone these days and are one of four teams in the top 10 offensive and defense.”
The T-Wolves have players who can play on both ends.
They didn’t get to the best start of the season, but the All-Star Break looked like a mission team.
The Lakers will be a difficult aspect for everyone to beat, but the physicality the Timberwolves brings is challenging for LeBron James and his army.
