The Los Angeles were destroyed by pitching injuries this season, but one of the most disappointing stories of 2025 so far was Tyler Glasnow.
Glasnow was a rookie for the last season, earning a career-high 3.49 ERA in 134 innings. His 168 strikeouts to just 35 walks were incredible, but his campaign was shortened in August as tendonitis in his elbow missed the rest of the regular season and the final postseason run.

This season, Glasnow has only 18 innings from his five starts. Then an inflammation in his shoulder landed him on the injured list in late April. He was then moved to Illinois for 60 days, retroactive to April 28th and appeared to tend to return when his stint happened.
Glasnow temporarily suspended his throwing program after feeling “general body pain” after last week’s bullpen. manager Dave Roberts sounded concerned, but Glasnow then resumed pitching progress and downplayed serious concerns.
“I’m totally fine. I’m totally normal,” Glasnow said. “My shoulders are totally fine. That problem, I haven’t felt since I started throwing. It was fine. I think it was really, really a precaution.
Glasnow knows the disappointment of his missing start, but he also knows why he was originally brought to this team: October. The right-hander thinks about his long-term plan as he tilts his way back, focusing on his slow and careful recovery.
“I think it’s just a precaution. We’re thinking about the playoffs. It’s what it is. …I have to play a bit of a long-term card.
Now that Glasnow has returned to throw, he appears to be back on track with his progress, so he can refocus on the Bullpen session and more.
“I’m just taking the bullpen by the bullpen and I’m seeing what it is,” he said. “Hopefully, I’ll be able to face the batters right away. I’m going to be there. I want to be healthy, I want to be in the playoffs. … My goal is to come back in a healthy way to help my team in the playoffs.”
