Los Angeles starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow is the latest to praise young reliever Aki Sasaki for his incredible run in the 2025 postseason.
Sasaki capped off a thrilling series against the Philadelphia Phillies with a great performance in Game 4, retiring all nine batters he faced in a tied game. The won 2-1, eliminating the second-seeded Phillies from the postseason.
“Loki was unbelievable,” said starting pitcher Glasnow. “Since coming back and coming in from the bullpen, he’s honestly been one of the best pitchers I’ve ever seen. His stuff is unbelievable.”

Sasaki attracted attention on the mound, but Glasnow also had a great performance as the starting pitcher in Game 4. The veteran started and pitched six shutout innings while striking out eight batters.
Sasaki has improved greatly since returning from injury in September and has become the ‘ most reliable relief pitcher. He returned on September 24 and pitched two scoreless innings in the regular season before entering the postseason.
The right-hander continued to make strides in the postseason, making his first postseason appearance and successfully dispatching the Reds, recording his first MLB save in the ‘ season opener. In the next game, he got the out of trouble by hitting the final out in the bottom of the ninth inning, earning his second save.
Sasaki has answered the call from the struggling ‘ bullpen, and there is no doubt that he will play a big role in the upcoming NLCS.

The Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers haven’t finished their series yet, so the don’t yet know who their NLCS opponent will be. Regardless of who wins Game 5 of that series, the will resume play on Monday, with a time and venue to be determined soon.
