Tyrese Maxey believes one of the Philadelphia 76ers stars was great last season, and he just keeps getting better.
Their situation with their superstars is a bit dangerous at the moment, but the Philadelphia 76ers have a great future ahead of them.
Their young core is one of the best in the NBA, with Tylese Maxey, Quentin Grimes (should he re-sign), Jared McCain and VJ Edgecombe all ready for greatness.
Edgecombe is fixed to be the next face of the 76ers.
However, according to Tyrese Maxey, the Philadelphia 76ers have one young star who went under the radar after a strong season.
Tyrese Maxey spoke on the Philly Take Podcast for an interview. He praised big man Justin Edwards when discussing his Philadelphia 76ers teammate.
In particular, he loved Edwards’ performances during the season. On top of that, Maxie was impressed with his size and his hunger to deliver for his team.
“I really like the way Justin played last year, and he was very impressive.
“He played the ball. He played, defended, knocked down the shots. He liked playing the pitch. It was really, really good. It’s really important in today’s game.
“And he’s getting taller. At the end of the day the guy is taller and he gets his size.
“I think it’s big and big for Justin. I think he can carve himself into a good rotation piece for the year and for the rest of his career.”
The Philadelphia 76ers are pleased to see young players like Justin Edwards connect the gap when they’re star players.
Their stars, Paul George and Joel Embiid in particular, will not be reliable next season due to their health concerns.
George and Embiid get injured in the preseason.
At this point, the 76ers need to question whether the $400 million Embiid and George duo is worth it, especially if these issues continue.
