Tyrrell Hutton celebrated the qualifying round for the European Ryder Cup team.
The British vowed not to repeat the feat, but they couldn’t rule out a similar scene if they were to win at Bethpage in New York later this month.
Hatton is one of the numbers of colorful characters remaining on tour, and despite his initial modesty towards revealing the extent of his excess, he was fully detailed about the celebration when further urged.
“I liked six glasses of wine at dinner, so I had double gin and a tonic, and I was drunk at a very normal speed. And John (Rahm) had decided what he wanted, and he said, ‘Sour of Disarno’ and I said ‘It’s perfect’,” Hutton said.
“They get off very easily. And I was basically starting a chant about getting someone to go down. All the cocktails that followed were shots. Then we ran out of Disaronno and the guy at the bar made some hazelnut sour.
“Then there was the margaritas, then the strawberry vodka stuff. God, it was offensive. It was horrifying. But I was funny at the time.
“When I actually got back to the room, I fell across the bed and sideways towards that position, then I was thrown into it and woken up.
“I fell asleep in that position and then when I woke up I held my arms, both sides, all my shirts in my arms.
“Walking up a little calmer and a bit of calm had to clean it up. I peeled off the bed, left some cash and a note and said, “I’m really sorry, I was sick in bed at night, throw it in the trash can.”
After admitting he never wanted to enter that state again, Hutton accepted that after the 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris, he has a record of past intakes, including his first victory in American soil since 2012 and that only the third century of this century can encourage repetition.
“I think we celebrate pretty well, and although there’s a good chance I’ll throw it out, hopefully I won’t fall asleep and I can enjoy most of the night with everyone,” he added.

As a member of Liv Golf, Hatton knew he had limited opportunities to score Ryder Cup points and thought he had automatically missed his chances for qualifying after dropping him from the top 10 in one overround at Open.
But no one made enough ground to knock him out of the top six. His location was confirmed a month later, leading to several wild celebrations.
“Qualifying the team was one of my main goals this year,” he added.
“When I entered the Dubai Desert Classic (January), I knew I would get enough points to automatically be that week and four majors (five events).
“I thought I had blown that chance after Sunday at the open, but then Luke (Donald) called me on Sunday night of his second FedEx event and said the guys hadn’t scored any points in Atlanta (at the end-of-season tour championship) and actually automatically made a team.”
